Apologies for cross-posting…
Dear SIGMAA RUME colleagues,
While the 2013 MAA Mathematical Study Tour is not RUME-focused, it does contain several components related to K-16 mathematics teaching.
A Small Ship Cruise of Alaska’s Inside Passage with Alaskan Dream Cruises
July 9 – 17, 2013
Fewer than 60 passengers will be on the ship, the Baranof Dream, which will visit Glacier Bay, Juneau, Sitka, and many smaller out of the way places. See Alaskan wilderness, wildlife and glaciers up close. Travelers will be accompanied by expert naturalists and First Nations interpreters. Each day a shore excursion is included at no additional charge.
Special evening programs will allow the MAA group to learn about the challenges of educating a population spread across the largest state in the Union and acquire resources for teaching about native Alaskan mathematics.
Pricing starts at $1,991 per person, double occupancy.
For more details, the full itinerary, and booking information, visit www.maa.org/studytour<http://www.maa.org/studytour>
SPECIAL NOTE: For widest choice of cabin classes, book by November 30, 2012.
Hope you can join the group!
